Ab worked hard to give Riversider’s a head start in athletics with a vision that everyone would be able to participate in some sport. He was a High School football and basketball referee and sponsored numerous local athletic teams.
Ab worked hard to give Riversider’s a head start in athletics with a vision that everyone would be able to participate in some sport. He was a High School football and basketball referee and sponsored numerous local athletic teams. As Mayor, he used his charisma to raise the funds to create a soccer complex that still serves 5,000 children a year and created events that allowed Riverside’s greatest athletes to display their talents. The soccer complex and one of the baseball fields at Evans Sports Complex is named in his honor.
