Riverside Mayor

Ab worked hard to give Riversider’s a head start in athletics with a vision that everyone would be able to participate in some sport. He was a High School football and basketball referee and sponsored numerous local athletic teams. As Mayor, he used his charisma to raise the funds to create a soccer complex that still serves 5,000 children a year and created events that allowed Riverside’s greatest athletes to display their talents. The soccer complex and one of the baseball fields at Evans Sports Complex is named in his honor.

  1. Don Aarts says:

Mr. Brown was the world’s best scout master – Troop 15. His style of leadership helped to make all of us independent, hard working citizens growing up with respect for our environment and the confidence that we could always cook for ourselves. Never a disparaging remark would be uttered from his lips – only positive encouragement and shared knowledge that helped direct us to positive achievements. The well appreciated opportunity to work for him at Brown’s Engine Rebuilding Company while pursuing greater scholastic achievements encouraged me to eventually pursue several business ownerships. I am forever grateful, thank you Mr. Brown!
